Small Acts of Magick

We can’t always be elbow deep in magick. A lot of us witches cast spells by night and work 9-5 by day. It can be really hard to   find a balance, and to feel like you’re not suffocating your witch-  ness by being tied down to an office daily. There is a way to keep the magick flowing even when you’re not praying by moonlight!
Here are some easy things to do to feed the balance and your soul, while securing the bag at the same time.

Start your morning by grounding yourself. Take five minutes to talk to the universe, express gratitude, and list three things that bring you joy. This is really simple but can start your day off with  just a little more magick!

If you have the time, add in a few minutes of meditation or yoga. Even if its just five inutes, it makes a world of difference.

Crystals!
Crystal jewelry is a really simple way to make a fashion statement  as well as protect your energy during your daylight hours. Anything deep in color, like onyx, obsidian, black tourmaline, are all really great. They absorb negative energies and keep you grounded. Carnelian pieces can help give your work ethic that drive and keep you motivated through the day. Rose quartz for harmony and peace.

You can even decorate your desk with a few pieces! They look cute and will keep your space energized and ready to go!

Spread kindness to someone, anyone, everyone. Smile at your coworkers, offer a helping hand, get lunch with the new employee. Magick can take on many forms, and being there for others is one of them!
Another really good idea that works wonders for me is creating a small travel-sized altar in your car.
I keep a herb bag filled with luck and fortune minded herbs to help create a small space where I can focus and set my intentions for even five minutes on my lunch break before heading back into work.

Herbs that work great for this are sweet grass, basil, bay leaves, honeysuckle, thyme, rosemary, cedar, and salt. Just take a few pinches of each, put in any type of small bag or pouch, add a crystal or two (i have tigers eye in mine!), and either a dollar bill or some change. Tuck it away in your purse or car and boom. Magick created and ready to manifest.

Glamour magick done in the morning before heading out is easy and a great way to incorporate magick into your everyday life. Small mantras you say in your mind, out loud, or write down for the day can be a great way to affirm your power throughout the day when you feel like whatever you’re doing is draining you.

Make sure to set and keep boundaries. This is super important, knowing your worth in the workplace and in life in general is just a good way to keep your energy YOURS. And then, when you get home, you can always come back to yourself with an energy cleansing and aligning bath!

A really simple recipe i use is a salt bath with herbs and sage leaves. You can add essential oils too! Whatever feels right. I use about a cup of epsom salt, about a cup and half of pink himalayan salt, calendula flowers, lavender buds, and a few sprigs of rosemary. Throw in a small handful of sage leaves (make sure the sage is ethically and sustainably sourced if you choose to use white sage. Its super important to use white sage intentionally and give thanks for it as well. The unethical and appropriation of white sage is intense. Just read up first!)  oils such as patchouli, eucalyptus, peppermint, and lemon are all super relaxing and invigorating. They work to calm your body and uplift your spirit. Salt absorbs all negative energies from your body, calendula heals, lavender calms. Rosemary protects, and sage cleanses and releases!

Pour the mixture into a tub full of hot water, and soak. Bonus points if you do this by candle light. Imagine the water pulling out and releasing all the the energy that does not serve you, and focus on it coating a bright light around you, toes to head, warming you and aligning your energy. (feel free to do some chakra aligning, imagine the light touching and opening each chakra so that it may release anything stuck- make sure to close them back up!) then imagine the light radiating from you up into the universe. When it feels right to you, exit the tub. For those of you with showers, put the mixture in an organza bag and tie around the shower head so that the water can pass through it and have the same effects!

Its super easy to add magick into the mundane parts of life!
Nothing can take away your craft, it is part of you. Sometimes, it feels like it gets put on the back burner, but it is always apart of you. Remember to take time for yourself, nurture yourself, and your spirit. Be mindful of your well-being, and always remember that the balance is key to feeling healthy in the physical and the spiritual aspects of your life!
