Bringing things back into Balance. The Justice card in the Tarot Major Arcana is No. 11 which in numerology is a master number that brings illumination and a strong connection to intuitive abilities that brings clarity to situations. The Justice Card is a card that deals with fairness in all things. This card brings about the justice in our worldly lives. Perhaps the scales are about to tip in your favour because of past good deeds. Aside from Karmic justice this card really embodies the legal realm; anything to do with signing of documents like marriage, buying a house or legally binding contracts. If you are on the wrong side of the law and this card comes up then you are going to find that you are going to be dealt with accordingly and get exactly what’s coming for you. Mainly this card means fair and equitable. Justice sits usually with her eyes blindfolded so that she can’t see the circumstances around her – so she has to rely upon her intuition; her third eye; because, as we all know – sometimes things don’t always appear to be what they seem. Heads up when this card comes up; either you are going to be receiving some karmic payback in a good way; or maybe Justice will finally catch up with you and you will be doing the paying back. The scales always need to be balanced. In Egyptian Mythology the goddess of Justice is Ma'at : Goddess of Cosmic Order - if you feel you need to bring justice to an issue that has come up then making a small alter to the Goddess Ma'at and dedicating a ritual to her to come to your aid would be appropriate.

Here is an Excerpt from highly esteemed Tarot writer Rachel Pollack from her book "Tarot Wisdom" on the Egyptian Story. "When a person dies, the god Anubis leads the soul to the goddess Ma'at, with Thoth standing alongside to write down what happens. The goddess, whose name means "truth" takes the heart and places it on one side of a scale, on the other side lies an ostrich feather. If the scales balance, the person moves on to the next life, in a higher spiritual realm. All souls bore the name "Osiris", for they seek to mimic the god who died and came back to life. If, however the heart weighs down the scales, a monster named Ammit devours the unlucky "Osiris". If you've ever held an ostrich feather, you will know that it weighs next to nothing. A human heart weighs about half a kilo. Clearly, we have entered the realm of symbol. Expressions such as "heart to heart", "the heart of the matter", or "a good heart" recognise something the Egyptians understood in detail: that the heart is more than a pump; it is the center of our being. The place of knowing and truth. The heart chakra stands at the mid-point  of our bodies, with three chakras of physicality below and three of awareness above, just as Justice stands at the midpoint of the Major Arcana. The heart forms the border, the place where Above and Below join together. What weights down th heart - when we seek to "come forth into light" is guilt, and fear, and shame. What opens the heart, makes it weightless, is Justice. Justice, justice shall your pursue, that you may thrive"
