Hello all you Boom-Bap-Dap-n-Clap-tastic folks out there in the interwebs.
I've been reading a lot lately. It's pretty much all I've got time to do these days. I mean, I think a lot too but... Well, that's generally a bad idea for me. Depends on the day. Just go with it.
So check it... I've got this friend named Roy, right? Right. Well, Roy got into a car accident.
He suffered some unconsciousness, internal bleeding, a few bruised ribs - nothing serious... Roy's tough as nails and he'll be alright. But, his car was totaled and one thing I found strange was that he was the only one injured. I only find that odd because he had just told me that his boss was a practitioner of magick. Aaaaand, Roy *just* quit his job as a driver. Actually, the accident happened driving away from his last day of work...
Now, call me boo-koo batshit crazy but, again, I think that shit's odd. I mean seriously, what are the chances of all that happening exactly the way it did when it did? I dunno, man. I'm not much of a believer in coincidence.
Anyway... I've been trying to convince my friend, who just so happens to be a sorcerer of sorts, to retaliate. But ol' "Tough as nails" Roy says he doesn't have to. Why? Idk... but, he says while he was unconscious in the midst of all that wreckage he connected with something. What, you might ask? I have no clue. He doesn't either. But he told me that he understood that his now former boss spoke some things into existence in order to do him harm. Pretty much out of spite. I guess that makes sense to me if it makes sense to him. So, Roy tells me all about his NDE (near death experience) and all the bits and pieces that come to him.
And honestly? That's what's got my brain in such a tizzy at 4:30 in the am as I'm writing this post. I want to talk about something in particular. Namely free will, morals, and ethics and how these things relate to.... Well, magick... or, should I say, how these concepts relate to one's practice. Yeah, that's it. Or not. I do have a tendency to not think these kinds of things through. Meh.
Now, before I dig into this I just have to warn you that I. Suck. At. Words.... And punctuation.... And grammar.... Aaaaand spelling. Buuuut, I graduated high school. That doesn't count for anything as you'll soon witness. I just thought I'd throw that in there. Ha!
Sooo.... Morals, Free Will, and Ethics.
I've heard it said that the Will is our most powerful tool. And our greatest gift. I can honestly think of a few other ideas aaaaand appendages that I believe to be mankinds greatest gifts. Just saying. Tomato, tomato, right? I've also heard that with any and every magickal working (i.e. High Magick, Low Magick, yadda, yadda and all that) that we actually manipulate the free will of others. Well if that be the case, where do morals and ethics fit in? Perhaps those concepts or ideas are left to the individual (you the magician.)
Some believe in the Threefold Law or the Rule of Three. Some don't. Some believe in the Golden Rule. Some don't. Some believe in Karma. Some don't. What exactly is right and/or wrong? People rape, kill, etc. But, what about the less obvious things? Where do *my* morals and ethics lie, especially where magick is concerned?
Some practitioners are pro curse. Totally me. But I'd have to have a good reason to do so. Some think it's ok to send unwarranted posi-vibes and healing energies. Some don't. WHERE DO YOU STAND?
Just some food for thought, yeah? Maybe we can have a civil conversation about it. I think this universe is a lot more complicated than we let on... Anyway, ponder that a while. And, stay dope!!!

An overall amazing soul, master of the hermithood philosophy and far more powerful, knowledgeable & magickal than he'll ever let on. He considers himself a Chaote, allowing his practice to evolve. Born into a coven with a rich family history in Voodou, Hoodoo and other forms of witchcraft, he has years beyond years of spiritual and occult wisdom... let's consider ourselves lucky to have him here sharing some of that with us. Many many thanks to this guy!
