Question: “How Can I Manifest _______?” Ask your Tarot cards.
The divination method known as Tarot has been used for centuries to tell the future, with cards containing symbolic imagery which reflect a possible future outcome. There is far less information out there which explains how to use the Tarot to create the future.
Manifestation is a blanket term for processes which empower the individual to create their future through understanding the effect that they have on their own reality.
This article details 3 methods which help you to self realize through healing, act in the direction of your desires, and release resistance to the flow of the Universe, otherwise known as “divine timing”.
The philosophy behind these 3 methods comes from the widely known spiritual concept “As Above, So Below. As Within, So Without.” Everything in your life is a reflection your inner being. This is also known as The Law of Attraction.
Each method is named after a facet of the ancient Chinese theory which states that the universe is dualistic in nature and consists of Yin energy (Within) and Yang energy (Without). The third energy is the unification and flow between opposites. Ultimately our lives are a gradient, and that is universal flow.
Each method includes a 6 card spread that I created for your personal use. This picture shows a general layout for each spread which is here for your reference to guide you in your practice:
1: The Yin Method: Healing Your Inner World
The Yin method is about using the Tarot for introspection processes that clear subconscious blockages through self discovery & healing the emotional body.
Practices like inner child work, shadow work, shamanic journeying & therapy fall into this category.
A “Yin” Tarot reading involves asking the cards to reveal what parts of your subconscious programming are negatively effecting you at present. The archetypes in the cards also offer spiritual solutions to resolve these blockages. This is done by understanding how you feel about what has manifested.
The reason this method works is because it reveals where you are blocked in your definition of self, your abilities, where you are in your life and what past events have brought you to this point.
All of these factors effect your manifesting abilities. Ex. “I believe I am powerless on a subconscious level because of xyz experience that effected me deeply.”
Being at peace with our past takes work, but understanding is key in transcending limitations.
Below is a 6 card Tarot spread you can use for self discovery & healing:
Tip: Learn which cards are correlated to each healing method. Ex. The High Priestess is associated with emotional processing where as The Empress relates to physical self care.
2. The Yang Method: Seeing Clearly, Planning & Acting.
The Yang method is about using the Tarot to see what actions you can take in your external reality & how to get the motivation to do so.
A “Yang” reading is one that helps you to break your future plans down into actionable tasks. This is an energy of being decisive and moving forward while finding the inspiration to continue. You can use Tarot as a way to access your own creative life force. This is done by gaining an understanding of what fuels your fire & how to use it!
Manifesting requires action as much as it does introspecting and journeying. Sometimes, we just arn’t sure what we should do! The Tarot can tell us what to do, but often the Tarot will teach us how to make the choice.
Ex. “I didn’t know what type of job I should apply for, so I asked the Tarot which job I should go for. The Tarot reading said that I should go for the job I wanted instead of playing small and taking whatever comes along.”
It’s smart to have a plan and be ready to go, but it’s equally important to know what puts you in the right headspace. For that we need clarity of mind, a deep knowing of our desires and visionary inspiration!
Below is a 6 card Tarot spread which will show you what is draining your life force and what action will help you to manifest situations that give energy back to you.
Tip: Learn which cards represent which aspect of your craft. Queen of Swords could represent writing/drawing sigils where the Magician could represent ritual. Also note, sometimes the cards will tell you to do something as simple as “you need to chill out” which sometimes can be just as powerful as doing ritual.
3. The Universal Flow method: Being Present & Open
A Universal Flow reading is going to help you to feel more connected to the guidance of the universe.
Universal flow is where the snake bites its tail, it gives us a consistent way to apply our Yin & Yang methodology.
Yin tells you how to heal yourself, Yang tells you how act from inspiration, and flow teaches us how to be open to the ever flowing balance of the universe.
Flow and balance between movement and stillness is crucial for living a happy life. Its also key in manifesting. Living “in flow” means continually honing the ability to know when to do which thing.
This is called divine timing. It’s not that there’s a flawless window of opportunity to do anything that’s going to close up if we don’t act quickly. It’s knowing how to recognize how to open the window ourselves.
Additionally, Manifestation requires being unattached to the outcome.
“Being open” means embracing neutrality and nothingness. It means releasing expectations. It means releasing attachment to the outcome of how something will or won’t happen.
This allows us to be guided and recognize each moment as having the answer within it. This is the cornerstone of divination. This will teach you how to see symbolic messages EVERYWHERE. These messages will help us to have certainty in our actions as we move through life
Below is a 6 card Tarot spread designed to help you “get in the flow” of divine timing.
Tip: Get familiar with cards that indicate “flow”. The Fool represents surrender to flow, The Strength card represents vitality within flow, The Chariot represents “light body matinence” to facilitate flow. Any card with an infinity symbol on it. Each represents a different quality of flow and also contains a process.
The Follow Card:
The Follow card is a unique manifestation method developed by the author of this article, Vivien Ryker, in association with New Timeline Divination.
How To Use This Method:
Look at the picture on the card. Concentrate on it. Remember it. As you go about your day, look for drawings/songs/people/colors/situations that resemble this card and let those things confirm and guide you.
Ex. In “The Matrix” Morpheous tells Neo over the phone to “follow the white rabbit”. He then gets invited to a party by a group of people, one of which has a white rabbit tattoo on her shoulder . He goes with them to the party.
With this card placement, the Tarot is Morpheous, You are Neo and the symbol will get you closer to what you seek. Sound simple enough?
In this YouTube video, I explain All 3 Methods and How To Use The Follow Card:
Notice how these themes mix and interplay. For example, it happens a lot that the Yang Reading will have a lot of cards which represent Yin energy (Cups & Pentacles) and the Flow reading might have a lot of Yang cards (Wands & Swords).
The 3 methods are designed to be used in harmony with each other. So if your flow reading says you need to take some kind of action, then let the Yang reading uncover what that might be. If your Yang reading says you need healing to do said action, then give yourself a Yin reading.
May Your Manifestations Be!
