If you are reading this, pat yourself on the back and give yourself a big hug because you have successfully held on during one of the bumpiest, transformative, and extremely wild three-month rollercoaster rides of cosmic energy. The past three months have truly felt like the Universe decided to create a remix to its infamous “2018” track, filled with GoGo (for my DC natives), House (for my Chicago and Baltimore crew) and Chopped and Screwed (for my Texas folks) music. Now, if you are familiar with any of the aforementioned sounds, you know remixing them all together on one track would be a complete calamity; yet, this musical analogy is exactly how the beginning of 2019 has felt for many of us—ALL OVER THE DAMN PLACE! Alas, we are now being presented with a fresh wave of energy during the Aries New Moon that will mark the beginning of another new 28-day cycle.
Darkening to 0% illumination at 4:50am EST, the fiery “I AM” energy of the Aries New Moon will begin to fill the Mothership on April 5, 2019. This dynamic Aries energy has come to invigorate many of us to start fresh by uprooting ourselves spiritually and carefully inspecting each of our roots for various strengths and weaknesses. Roots are both literally and figuratively the foundation of gardening successes or failures. This is no different when it comes to our spiritual roots being the foundation for our successes and failures in life. Roots guide the gardener on what gardening methods are working through signs of growth, and which methods are not working through signs of rot, stagnation or death.
Our spiritual roots are no different, showing signs of areas in our lives that are stagnant, unhealthy and treacherous to our growth. Plants draw in nutrition and water through their roots, providing the life force needed to help them blossom into all they were created to be on the Mothership. Again, our spiritual roots are no different, drawing upon energy from the Mothership through grounding, meditation, and various self-love practices. As the gardeners of our souls, we are being asked to examine which of our roots need to be clipped away? Which roots are spoiling the other roots? Which roots are big, healthy and strong? Are our roots responding positively to our current soil and environment? Are our roots getting enough love and attention? This spiritual examination, coupled with the stead-fast Aries energy may cause many of us to quickly grab new soil, fetch fresh water, clip away rotten roots and replant ourselves in a new environment in order to embrace a new way of being; to evolve; to grow, and to approach life differently from this point forward.
The examination of our spiritual roots is also imperative during this time due to Mars, the ruling planet of Aries, also ruling the first chakra in our inner energy system--the Muladhara (Root) Chakra. Thus, if harnessed, the energy of the Aries New Moon can assist with clearing and balancing our Root Chakra, helping us to ground ourselves proudly in our new soil. If we use the Aries New Moon energy to our advantage, we can clear out any pollution from our Root Chakra that has caused fear, anxiety, lack of discipline, difficulties with manifesting, restlessness, instability, and having a materialistic mentality. Once depolluted, we can spiritually charge our new soil by anchoring ourselves into the element of Earth, the Mothership, the element that rules our Root Chakra, and invite in vibrant, balanced, and grounded energy filled with fearlessness, leadership, prosperity, stability, vitality, patience, tenacity, courage, career success and action to achieve our desires.
Symbolically, Aries is classified as the “baby” of the zodiacs because Aries is arguably (some say Pisces) the first sign that starts the zodiac. Due to representation of childlike energy, the Aries New Moon has also come for many of us to dive deeper into our egos. Our egos begin developing when we are very small children. During this initial phase in our ego development, we learn to differentiate ourselves from others, take action and make decisions. However, once we enter adulthood, we are spiritually charged with the mission to expand and elevate out of the limited concept of reality that we created for ourselves as children. The Aries warrior energy has come to provide us with the strength we need to dive deep into our egos and question outdated behaviors, traits, and patterns in order to break away from the training wheels of the childlike ego identity we created long ago. We must INNERstand that our childlike ego was formed in response to our childhood challenges, social conditioning and environment. It is this infantile view that the Aries New Moon has come to help us release in order to transcend into a deeper level of soul consciousness—making decisions from the soul, not the ego (a.k.a. the mind). However, with Saturn, the planet of structure, squaring the Aries New Moon at 4°44’, our deep diving will challenge change in many of us which may feel uncomfortable in the beginning.
With the vibration of the number 4 spiritually representing angelic guidance, positivity, protection, passion, ambition, responsibility, practicality, honesty, balance, security and wisdom (just to name a few), the number 4, alongside Saturn, is here to remind us that we are protected by our Spiritual Court. Our Spirit Guides and Benevolent Ancestors hear the desires we seek, and they are here to help us regain control during this Aries New Moon. However, given the “tough love” Saturn tends to display, Saturn wants us to prove that we really want the change we desire by sending us a few challenges along the way. Saturn wants to know we are committed to change before allowing us to reap the sweet rewards that come from embracing the changes we know are necessary for our elevation.
In all, the Aries New Moon energy is here to offer us an abundance of wealth, happiness and success, but we must want it so badly that we pull up our spiritual roots, clip away and discard the rotted and weak roots, and begin to explore, embrace and charge our new soil.
