This new moon sets a tone for us to assess what we believe may be of value to us for the remainder of this year, 2019. Uranus in Taurus questions our values as it pushes us to embrace that which is unique, that which is different, and that which veers off the well-known beaten path. Taurus’ ruler, Venus (who shows us beauty and value as we know it), forms a conjunct with our mind and our thought processes represented by the planet Mercury. This critical evaluation of values is one that calls for cognitive veracity as we have also been recently been reminded by two recent back-to-back Libra full moons in the month of April.
What’s interesting is that Venus and Mercury are both creating aspects to:
What does this mean?
The act of carefully differentiating between what and who we believe will be of value to us this year is crucial.
We have to see that our impatience and impulsivity do not get in the way of our decision making (Venus ♀conjunct ☌ Mercury ☿ sextile ꘎ Mars ♂). In looking back on all of the success we have had since November (When Jupiter first entered Sagittarius - Jupiter is now Retrograde ♃ ℞), we need to make sure that we are making clear decisions and that we are not buying into the illusions (Moon ☾ semi-sextile Venus ♁ semi-sextile Neptune ♆) that embody the same energy of our past that we are inevitably trying to leave behind (Venus ♀square □ Pluto ♇ ☌ Saturn ♄ ☌ South Node ☋).
We need to make sure we are realistic about our expectations (moon ☾ sextile ꘎ Neptune ♆) and that our ego doesn’t get the best of us during this process. We know that we need to move on (Sun ☉ trine △ Saturn ♄) and we also know that living in the past isn’t really benefiting us (Mercury ☿ Square □ Pluto ♇).
Deep down, we know that we have a mission that requires us to grow that requires full dedication emotionally, physically, and spiritually. (Venus conjunct the asteroid, Vesta). We have to be careful to not revert to the self-sabotaging behavior we once lived, even though it didn’t completely stop blessings from flowing into our lives (Mercury ☿ square Saturn ♄; Mercury ☿ trine △ Jupiter retrograde ♃℞).
Changing for the betterment of ourselves and others (Uranus ♅ in Taurus ♉︎) while evaluating the process of our growth from a neutral stance will allow us to evaluate what we REALLY need going forward in 2019 (Libra ♎︎ Full Moon x2 energy that still lingers).
With every New Moon there is a motion to start anew as the sun and moon come to an exact conjunct that leaves the moon barely visible to the naked eye. The Dark moon also known as the New Moon happens every month and represents a clean slate that allows for the motion of planting seeds of intention. With the sun ☉ And moon ☾ in the sign of Taurus ♉︎, we are faced with the task of enumerating and differentiating our values amongst our wants and our needs.
As the sun ☉ initially moved into the sign of Taurus it formed a conjunction with the planet Uranus ♅ which creates a different outlook in regards to where we are seeking value. As I have previously stated, Uranus ♅ is a planet that embodies change, innovation, and treading off the beaten path, so to speak. Uranus ♅ likes to Shake sh*t up, and ask questions later. Uranus ♅ in Taurus ♉︎ brings forth a whole new outlook in regards to where we hold value individually and as a collective until 2026. Uranus ♅ hasn’t Transited the first deacanate of Taurus♉︎ since June 1934. The sun ☉ and the moon ☾ are both coming together in a conjunct with this innovative celestial body while pushing us out of our comfort zone. Just as a stem pushes out of the soil - we bloom during this Taurus♉︎ season.
Let us not forget that with the current North Node ☊ is in the sign of cancer, every major aspect that the moon makes this year brings increased awareness to our soul’s journey and what we need to work towards for our souls to feel fulfilled as a collective. The moon rules the sign of cancer and with the north node ☊ slowly moving its way into the second decanate of Cancer ♋︎, we are being pushed even more towards transformative change and being guided to demolish self-sabotaging behavior that traverses our path. Pluto ♇ is the planetary sub-ruler of the second decanate of Cancer ♋︎ and as we all know, he stationed retrograde last week.
Depending on what house we have Capricorn ♑︎ in our charts, we are all respectively being guided towards transformative change. As I have stated earlier, Taurus’ ♉︎ ruler (Venus ♀) is creating a harsh aspect (□ = 90° angle) with Pluto ♇. He is breaking down barriers and calling forth the energy that we have hidden and kept so deeply recessed this whole time. He knows that the energy we need to tackle what’s ahead is that which has never been required of us in the past. You thought you were strong? - well, 2019 is going to make you stronger.
Let’s not forget that we started this astrological new year with the Sun ☉ in Aries ♈︎ forming a conjunct with the asteroid Chiron. Chiron is all about healing our wounds and growing past that “self-made martyr” behavior. He is known as the “Wounded Healer” because he had the powers to heal everyone else but himself. There’s a difference between trying to be a superhero while neglecting our basic needs and caring for others while still maintaining a level of self-respect. The reality is, how can we expect respect from others if we don’t respect ourselves? How can we know what we truly value if we don’t assess what is now considered to be of no value as we continue on our path?
The reality is that we will have lots of energy to put forth towards our healing - but we have to be mindful that this isn’t harnessed in such a way that utilizes said energy in the wrong way. Mars in Gemini is opposing Jupiter Retrograde in Sagittarius gives us self-confidence and a desire to win and be successful. We may even feel a little too adventurous in that we let our delusions get in the way. Mars is creating a square with Neptune in Pisces which is the planet associated with dreams, illusions and distorted thinking. Neptune in Pisces also brings the potential for substance abuse including and not limited to drugs and alcohol. If the pressures placed on us from Saturn and Pluto grow to be too much to bear, we have to be mindful to not travel down this path as it will only hold us back in the long run.
