Witchy Wellness Hey y’all, Howdy and Merry Meet! Thank you for joining me again. Half of 2019 is almost gone. Read that again.. Half a year gone. How many spells have you cast, how many candles lit? If you’re like me, a daily witch, you have NO idea. Especially if you are a professional rootworker or you have people you care for that just need some spiritual help? As witches, we have a wealth of knowledge at our fingertips and intuitively. As a rootworker, I believe in the balance of rootwork, meaning that I work with both hands. There is no blessing without the hex or curse. However, there are some types of spells or work that I am more inclined to do. It’s my comfort zone. That is mostly true of many witches I know. You might see them term themselves as a Chaos Witch, a Love Witch or a Healing Witch. Just as you find an ENT doctor or a Cardiologist. Having a speciality is natural, it multiplies our strength; but when is it time to call in another professional? Witches are feeling beings, we want to help others and having this sensitivity and knowledge at our fingertips can lead many of us to try to do it all. For example:
Yes, we have the knowledge and more than likely a whole botanica in our closet, but is doing the work going to get it done? Will it be successful? Are we too close to it? Case in point, as many of my followers know, I had a very sick family member that I was using every bit of my energy to heal. Meanwhile I had a situation that was getting out of control that needed some left handed work thrown at it. I was at a crossroads, pun not intended. Do I seek help or try to do it all myself? I chose to call in another professional, Papa Bone13 on Instagram. He is a rootworker that I have spoken to frequently. I knew his work and felt confident that he would be thorough. He could do what I needed to get done without me getting my hands dirty AND he wasn’t so close to the situation that the energy was scattered.
Years ago, I might have gone down that road of self-doubt but I know what a psychic drain feels like. It’s when you just don’t have the energy to do anything but sleep. It’s not a physical tired like you’ve been working out. I liken it to someone cutting off the tip of my index finger and all the energy pouring out on the floor. The outcomes? My work was highly successful and what I “outsourced” is moving along faster than I had expected. We, as Rootworkers or Witches, have the human and spiritual resources in each other to improve our lives and our craft. This is why communities like Silfren Circle are vital. - OshunsLight of Silfen Circle

I have been a practicing Witch for more than a decade but am always seeking to learn from other traditions. In the mundane, I am an educational leader and former counselor; mom of one, only child and partner to a man who loves the witch in me. ArchivesCategories |
