Hello, there, lovely loves...
Interested in a classic love potion that actually does the trick?
This is an old Gypsy witch go-to with a slightly modern twist...
First, lets have a quick brush up on love correspondences in regards to timing.
As with almost everything, the energy you feel when you tap in ALWAYS trumps traditional correspondences. This is what separates the sorceresses from the witchlets, knowing that the true power in magick is all in YOU and your unique connection. Now, the old witch also knows that that doesn't mean there isn't anything to these. These correspondences are time-tested through the generations and will help you to make the most of your efforts.
So, for example, the absolute best timing might be a Friday night with a waxing moon in Taurus, Libra or Scorpio. Now, Venus is indeed the planet of love. Check to make sure she's not in retrograde. But, again, spellwork calls when it calls and nothing should stop you from working your magick.
On with the love potion!
I'm going to assume that you all know how to properly set up your own best spellworking environment. For myself, I typically prep with a spiritual bath and listen to something sultry with a good beat, turn any unnatural lighting off and light some candles (pink, white and red are best here). But, do whatever truly feeds the energy of your intent. Take your time. Make it yours.
Now, place the water, wine, cherry juice, anise seeds, vervain, nutmeg and cinnamon in your pot or cauldron. Slowly heat to a low boil, continuously stirring deosil. As the water heats, feel the ingredients mingling and activating to their purpose. Remain concentrated on your intent. Truly FEEL the love that you wish for this to awaken. Acknowledge even the physical sensations and bask in them as energy builds. And, once the boil begins, know the power of what you've created. I even enjoy letting my brew sit in that boiling state while I really take it all in.
Once you're satisfied, add the nutmeg, cinnamon and honey. It's not completely necessary to run your potion through a sieve. However, it's helpful... Unless you want your intended lover to question the anise seeds... nervous laugh...
Pour into a chalice or cup of your choosing. Either drink from the same glass or divide the brew equally between two. I would advise sharing, though. Not only does this signify union, it allows for your personal concerns to mingle and be consumed by one another.
Before serving, garnish with an edible flower. The best options are definitely rose or hibiscus. But, feel free to use violet or any other DEFINITELY edible flower that calls to you. If you decide to get creative make absolutely sure that your ingredients are indeed edible... This is love potion, not death sauce.
Finally, with each sip they take, imagine them becoming drunk with lust for you and only you...
